INAUGURATION OF THE CA’ PONTICELLE ENVIRONMENTAL HUB IN RAVENNA: SOLESI AMONG THE KEY CONTRIBUTORS TO THE NEW CIRCULAR ECONOMY INFRASTRUCTURE

From the regeneration of a former industrial site comes one of Italy’s most innovative environmental hubs. Solesi S.p.A. contributed to the project as EPC contractor, delivering the civil, plant engineering, and mechanical works supporting the Bioremediation facility.
The new Ca’ Ponticelle Environmental Hub in Ravenna has officially been inaugurated. Developed by Eni Rewind and Herambiente, the project now stands as one of Italy’s most significant examples of industrial regeneration and circular economy development.
Built within a former industrial area of approximately 26 hectares in the Ravenna industrial district, the hub is the result of an extensive remediation, recovery, and redevelopment process that has transformed a non-operational site into a modern integrated platform dedicated to the sustainable management of industrial waste, the recovery of contaminated soils, and the valorization of resources.
The project demonstrates how environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and industrial development can successfully converge within a single initiative, contributing to reduced landfill disposal, increased material recovery, and the rehabilitation of previously compromised areas.
Through dedicated aerobic biodegradation processes, the environmental hub will enable the treatment of contaminated soils and support their subsequent reuse as backfilling material in environmental remediation projects, reducing the consumption of virgin materials and helping to close the recovery cycle.
The facility represents a key element of the circular economy strategy pursued by Eni Rewind, enabling a more efficient and sustainable management of environmental matrices generated by remediation activities.
As part of this important project, Solesi S.p.A. served as EPC contractor, leveraging its multidisciplinary expertise and organizational capabilities developed through years of experience in civil and industrial construction.
The company carried out the main civil, plant engineering, and mechanical works supporting the Bioremediation facility, making a tangible contribution to the construction of the infrastructure that will enable the treatment and recovery of contaminated soils.
The execution of the project required the coordination of multiple specialized disciplines, the management of highly complex technical activities, and the integration of advanced technological systems, further demonstrating Solesi’s ability to operate in strategic and highly specialized industrial environments.
For Solesi, participation in the development of the Ca’ Ponticelle Environmental Hub represents an achievement of significant professional and industrial value.
Contributing to the creation of infrastructure designed to support the country’s ecological transition means playing an active role in a transformation process that goes far beyond the construction of a facility, generating environmental, economic, and social benefits for the local community.
Indeed, the new hub represents much more than a collection of industrial facilities: it is a development model based on resource recovery, reduced environmental impact, and the regeneration of former industrial areas through innovative technologies and sustainable processes.
Participation in projects such as Ca’ Ponticelle reaffirms Solesi’s commitment to playing an active role in the innovation and sustainability processes that are reshaping the industrial and infrastructure sectors.
Execution quality, technical expertise, the ability to manage complex projects, and a strong focus on environmental responsibility are values that guide the company’s activities every day.
Because the ecological transition is not made only of strategies and objectives: it is made of completed projects, operational infrastructure, people, expertise, and companies capable of turning vision into reality.
Solesi is proud to have contributed to this transformation.
